Submit Your Event to Art and Cake’s Weekly Calendar on Substack
 

Show Up LA is Art and Cake’s free weekly column of art openings, exhibitions, and events across Los Angeles and Southern California. It publishes every Thursday.
 

Art and Cake is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit arts publication covering the LA art scene since 2016. Show Up LA is our way of making sure the community knows what is happening and where to be.
 

How to Submit
 

Submitting is free and takes about 5 minutes. Have your event details, a short description, and an image ready before you start.

Deadlines
 

Submissions received by Wednesday at noon are considered for that Thursday’s column. Please submit at least 10 days before your opening or event.
 

Inclusion is not guaranteed. We review every submission and may edit descriptions for length and clarity.

What to Include
 

  • Event or exhibition title

  • Artist(s) and curator(s)

  • Venue name and address

  • Exhibition dates and opening reception details

  • A short description in plain language, 2 to 3 sentences, no press release language

  • One image — portrait orientation, at least 900px on the shortest side, JPG or PNG, no text or logos on the image

  • Image credit and alt text

  • Admission information and accessibility details
     

Featured Listings
 

A featured listing is $75 and includes:

  • Placement at the top of Show Up LA in the Featured section

  • A larger image

  • An individual Instagram post on the Art and Cake account
     

To book a featured listing, select it in the form and send $75 by Zelle to artandcakela@gmail.com by Wednesday at noon. Include “Show Up LA” and your event title in the memo. Featured listings that meet our guidelines are guaranteed to run. If we cannot run your listing for any reason, we will refund your payment in full.
