What keeps you excited in the studio? Change and evolution.
Looking back at your trajectory as an artist, how would you say your work has developed? From figurative to abstract with shapes in 3D to a flat surface.
What role do you think the artist has in today’s society? To evolve.
What’s the most important advice you could give to an aspiring artist? Create to discover who you are.
Does age matter in art? Why or why not? The older you get the more opportunity to learn. I just completed a BFA in photography and BA in art history. I already had degrees but this afforded me new experiences in art.
.
What can we look forward to from you next? Flatter abstracts where line is more important than rendering shapes.
Is there anything else you would like to share about being an artist later in life? It is really hard to quit.
